The Human Resources Department at Asbury Communities
manages numerous processes throughout the Asbury system designed to
foster employee relations, enhance associate productivity and
increase career satisfaction through competitive compensation,
benefits and training.
By establishing standards and policies designed to provide a
positive work environment and allow for career growth, the Human
Resources Department strives to hire, train and retain qualified and
inspired employees who take very seriously the challenges of
providing quality services for seniors.
Among the services provided by the Human Resources Department are:
- Management of the communities' payroll and benefit
processes
- Competitive wage analysis and recommendations
- Development of Human Resources policies and
procedures
- Coordination and management of annual review
processes, including establishment of 360-degree review process
for managers and directors
- Development of benefit communications for all
associates
- Evaluation and implementation of benefit plans
designed to be both cost effective and competitive in the market,
as well as to meet the changing needs of the organization and
associate population
- Processing benefit claims such as medical,
dental and worker’s compensation
- Selection of appropriate organizational systems
to effectively track associate productivity
- System-wide training to orient and educate
associates regarding performance expectations and corporate
culture
- Consult with management regarding issues
related to legal compliance, such as FMLA, COBRA, EEO, etc.
- Work with management to strategically plan
steps for organizational growth, excellence and adherence to
quality standards

Timothy Sexton, Vice President
of Human Resources
Mr. Sexton has more than 30 years of senior-level human
resources experience at not-for-profit and corporate
organizations. He provides management oversight for all human
resources functions, including employee orientation, benefit and
salary programs and human resources policies and procedures.
Before joining Asbury in 1996, he directed human resources at
three Washington area hospitals and at two corporations located
in suburban Maryland. Mr. Sexton has a Master’s degree in Human
Resources from the University of Maryland University College.

William C. Simmons, Director of
Benefits & Compensation
Mr. Simmons joined Asbury in 1996 and has worked in Human
Resources management for over 20 years. He is responsible for
developing and administering benefit plans for associates at all
Asbury community locations, and is responsible for assuring that
all compensation systems are functioning properly. Bill earned a
Bachelor’s degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore County,
and a Master of Science degree in Business from the University
of Baltimore. |
