As more residents with pets move to Asbury Methodist Village, it was natural for a dog club to form. At the end of 2016, residents in the club started meeting to create a dog park. Over the winter, they researched \u201cbest practices\u201d to build an accessible and comfortable spot. In less than one year, after work with Asbury leadership and generous donors interested in making the campus more pet-friendly, the Larry V. McDaniel Pet & Activity Wellness Site (PAWS) became a reality.<\/p>\n

Opened in October 2017, the fenced quarter-acre space is equipped with a doggy water fountain, shade trees, and plenty of grass for pets who like to run. PAWS has become a destination for Asbury residents walking their beloved companions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s great to have a place where we can play fetch with our dogs,\u201d says Linda Davis, a member of the Dog Club. \u201cPAWS brings important social and exercise benefits to people and pets. I\u2019m sure best-friend dogs Gigi and Paige would agree!\u201d
