Dixie Reppe

Dixie ReppeWhen you hear about the career and philanthropy of Inverness Village resident Dixie Reppe, it sounds like the work of three or four people. Dixie has been a high school teacher, executive director of both the YWCA and Tulsa Opera, and a realtor. Her volunteer work has ranged from Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout den mother and PTA president to board officer for nine Tulsa charitable organizations. Along the way she raised three sons, and then cared for her beloved husband, Rod, for nearly 14 years until his passing in 2008.

She currently serves on the boards of Inverness Village and the Asbury Foundation, as well as chairing the Inverness Village Fund Committee. What drives her? The command “to love your neighbor as yourself.” At Inverness, Dixie believes that supporting benevolent care is an excellent way to live this out.

“A small annual gift to benevolent care might very well help someone secure needed prescriptions. Or remembering Inverness in your will or trust with a larger gift makes it possible to help not just a current neighbor, but those in the future.”

She adds, “Life is not always easy, but it can be beautiful if you are loved and take every opportunity ‘to love your neighbor.’ ”
