As a not-for-profit community, we have a very clear vision of our mission: to always put residents first. That means a commitment to the promise of benevolent care and to enhancing residents’ lives without placing an undue financial burden on them. We invite you to join us in this mission, with the assurance that the entire amount of any donation given through the Asbury Foundation for Springhill benefits the Springhill community only.
Keep reading and you’ll see how the generosity of Springhill’s friends and benefactors has already transformed the community. You’ll also see that we’re just getting started and learn how you can be a part of this generous tradition.
Innovative Memory Care
In December 2009, Springhill welcomed its first residents to The Woodlands Memory Support Neighborhood at ForestView. Twenty residents now live in this comfortable neighborhood, which was made possible by a $1.7 million fundraising campaign.
The Woodlands Memory Support Neighborhood offers a therapeutic environment, as well as programming that is unique to the Erie, Pennsylvania, region. The approach engages family and friends as a vital support system in the resident’s daily life. In addition, specially trained professionals serve as surrogate family members, assisting with activities and therapies and even sharing family-style dining.
Lifestyle Enhancement Projects
The goal at Springhill is to set the standard in whole-person wellness, while also leading the region in lifestyle options and innovative services. Residents here can, and should, anticipate more.
To make that mission a reality, the board, management and residents came together to brainstorm what’s now called the Lifestyle Enhancements Projects. Made possible by the generosity of residents, community stakeholders, friends and benefactors, the two-phase project has raised funds for the following:
- A redesigned fitness center with additional equipment and designated physical therapy area
- A new aquatic center across from the new fitness center to include an indoor therapeutic pool for exercise and recreation, a whirlpool, locker rooms, showers and restrooms
- An all-faith worship and spiritual enrichment center
- A social TV lounge, with the opportunity for alcohol to be served from the upgraded existing bar area
- A new card and educational room for small group functions
- A relocated and upgraded hair salon
Asbury Foundation Heritage Society
Asbury Springhill has its many benefactors and friends to thank for the high-quality of life enjoyed by residents. The Heritage Society exists to officially recognize all donors who have included an Asbury community in their wills or estate plans.
Your planned gift, of any amount, is appreciated and will be used to continue an extraordinary legacy of service to seniors for many years to come. If you have already made a planned gift, and are not a Heritage Society member, please contact us so that we may express our appreciation.
