Asbury Methodist Village Community

As a not-for-profit community, Asbury Methodist Village always puts its residents first. That means a commitment to the promise of benevolent care and to enhancing residents’ lives without placing an undue financial burden on them. When you make a gift through Asbury Foundation, you’ll join in that mission, with the assurance that your entire donation benefits the Asbury Methodist Village community.

But it isn’t just financial donations that are appreciated. Keep reading to see how gifts of both money and time work together to transform the lives of residents, as well as the Asbury Methodist Village community as a whole.

The Asbury Guild

The purpose of the Asbury Guild is simple — to enhance the lives of residents at Asbury Methodist Village’s Wilson Health Care Center and Kindley Assisted Living. That’s done through outings to restaurants and other places of interest, special performances, holiday parties, bingo nights, and special birthday celebrations.

The Guild funds its work by managing a gift shop in the Wilson Health Care Center, selling donated items at the Bargain Mart, and collecting donations from the campus in an annual Sponsorship Drive. The Guild also contributes to the Benevolent Care Fund at Asbury Methodist Village.

All interested parties are encouraged to volunteer for the Asbury Guild. Please call 301-216-4051 for more information.

The Williamsburg Clothes Closet

The Williamsburg Clothes Closet was launched in 1989 with the goal of providing for the benevolent care of residents at Asbury Methodist Village by selling used and new clothing items. Since then, more than $450,000 has been raised for residents’ needs. The Williamsburg Clothes Closet is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding holidays.

Asbury Foundation Heritage Society

The Asbury Foundation Heritage Society recognizes benefactors who, through their vision and generosity, seek to ensure that the highest quality of life and healthcare services will be available to future generations. These friends support a tradition of caring that began decades ago with the dreams and ideals of Asbury’s first residents.

The Heritage Society recognizes all donors who have included an Asbury community in their wills or estate plans. Be assured that your planned gift, of any amount, is appreciated and will be part of an extraordinary legacy of service to seniors for many years to come. If you have already made a planned gift, and are not a Heritage Society member, please contact us so that we may express our appreciation.
