Gardens enhance our lives through the life, activity, and beauty they offer. Having a garden allows us to connect with nature and provides a place to reflect.
Springhill’s ForestView Health Care Center includes an outdoor porch and garden area that is a favorite spot for residents, families and associates. Janet Blakeslee visited her father, Dr. Richard Lynn, frequently in the Erie community and says, “Dad’s favorite place to be was outside! He loved to be out on ForestView’s outdoor porch and garden area enjoying the hustle and bustle of activity while watching the birds and butterflies and soaking in the warmth of the sun.”
Dr. Lynn passed away recently, and Janet and her siblings wanted to ensure that their father’s appreciation and love for the garden would live on for his friends and neighbors. Dr. Lynn had planned a legacy gift through a beneficiary designation of his refundable entrance fee. Working with Asbury Foundation, Janet and her sister and brother felt that her dad would want those funds used to make some repairs to the porch and refresh and enlarge the ForestView garden area so that more people could enjoy it.
We thank the Lynn family for this wonderful legacy that will be enjoyed by many members of the Springhill community for years to come!
