Job Description
Pharmacy technicians assist the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as pharmacy policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Under the supervision of a pharmacist, and in accordance with State and Federal Laws, fills prescriptions for and assists with daily fills as directed.
- Effectively operates the Pharmacy computer system to ensure timely and accurate prescription documentation and billing.
- - Orders supplies and prescription medications under the direction of the Pharmacist.
- - Maintains pharmacy Pyxis system, restocks outdates, restocks meds on a daily basis.
- - Understands Facility and Third-party billing guidelines.
- - Compliant with infection control procedures and environmental safety protocol within a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility.
- - Travels between facilities efficiently during scheduled hours as assigned. Makes emergency deliveries as necessary.
- - Works varying shifts on a standard rotating schedule, including weekends.
- - Advises the Pharmacy Manager of any potential or actual problem that may jeopardize Albright Care Services.
