Building a Legacy Together
Asbury Methodist Village residents Dave and Jane Reiser are committed believers in the Asbury lifestyle. Not only have they lives at Asbury Methodist Village since 2015 and served in various leadership roles, but when the opportunity arose to move Jane’s mother, Audrey Hildebrand, to campus, they jumped at the change.
Dave and Jane wanted to ensure that even more people could enjoy the benefits of living at Asbury Methodist Village, so they chose to make a larger investment in Asbury.
They set up a charitable gift annuity (CGA) with the Asbury Foundation to support the Benevolent Care Endowment Fund, which assists residents who have run out of resources through no fault of their own. In fact, the couple has funded several CGAs over the years.
Donors can fund a CGA using any number of assets, including cash, stock and/or real estate. A CGA generates income for the donor(s) for the rest of their life, much of which is tax free, while also creating a large charitable deduction that can be carried over for up to five years. When the donor passes away, the remaining value of the CGA passes to the charity, fulfilling the donor’s intent.
Dave and Jane saw a CGA as a great way to help future generations enjoy this valuable lifestyle while creating wonderful income for life!
