“Springhill was the only place Mom would consider when the time came for her to move to a more secure environment. While she thought she was not ready at first, she soon fell in love with her apartment, and enjoyed the social activities, trips, concerts and dining they had to offer. And we knew there was added security and checks that gave us peace of mind.
Mom eventually would come to utilize all the care levels offered at Springhill. She was hospitalized numerous times, and it was a comfort to know ForestView would be her place to rehab. They offered excellent therapy, and she became familiar with the staff.
Mom had to transfer to personal care the day after COVID restrictions came into place. Imagine having to move to a new place, cannot see family and dealing with medical issues. But she grew to love the staff. They worked with us to schedule Zoom calls, window visits, anything to help Mom adjust and thrive. And she did. Their team helped us work through tough decisions and making Mom comfortable.
I also want to mention what an asset their transportation bus is—eventually Mom was wheelchair bound and on oxygen. It would have been difficult to get her to appointments without this service.
