“Asbury is proud to be recognized by its associates for creating one of the best workplaces in Aging Services. This shows what so many of us already know: that Asbury associates enjoy working in our organization and, most importantly, that they have a positive impact on residents’ lives,” said Doug Leidig, President and CEO of Asbury Communities.
Great Place to Work evaluated more than 50 elements of Asbury associates’ experience on the job. These included the extent to which associates trust leaders, the respect with which people are treated, the fairness of workplace decisions, and how much camaraderie there is among the team. Rankings are determined by associates’ feedback and reward companies who best include all employees, no matter who they are or what they do for the organization. The ranking considered more than 76,000 employee surveys from organizations in the industry.
“Associates enjoy multiple opportunities and pathways for career development at Asbury, and many cite a family atmosphere as one of the aspects they value most about their workplace,” said Leidig. “That speaks to the relationships they develop not only with the residents they serve, but also with each other. Benefits that incorporate associate feedback and provide a living wage so that every associate has the opportunity to live with dignity are another important piece contributing to our workplace culture.”
The organizations listed as Best Workplaces for Aging Services excel in the industry’s rapidly-changing market. For example, over the past year, Asbury has rolled out a smartphone app designed exclusively for Asbury associates as a common-sense approach to help associates communicate and find information in a way that best fits with their everyday lives.
“The aging services industry is rapidly growing and with aging Baby Boomers, consumer preferences are changing even more dramatically. Companies need to adapt their organizations and offerings to remain competitive,” said Michael Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “Organizations like Asbury stand out from the crowd, intentionally growing their businesses by creating great places to work,” said Bush.
The Best Workplaces for Aging Services is part of a series of rankings by Great Place to Work and FORTUNE based on employee feedback from Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations.
