Bethany Village Earns Planetree Gold Level Excellence in Person-Centered Care

Community Receives Award During Planetree International Annual Conference

October 11, 2018

Justin Margut, Jenn Caldwell, Jim KinseyWe are excited to share that Planetree International has certified and awarded Bethany Village, an Asbury community in Mechanicsburg, Pa., for Gold Level Excellence in Person-Centered Care. The award was officially presented to the community this week during Planetree’s annual conference in Boston. This certification recognizes Bethany Village’s achievement and innovation in the delivery of person-centered care.

There are just 144 Planetree-certified sites worldwide, and Bethany Village is one of only 85 healthcare organizations to receive this level of certification since the program’s launch in 2007. Of that total, just 26 are from the United States – and Bethany Village is the first Continuing Care Retirement Community in the United States to receive Gold Level certification.

Even better? When the Planetree certification committee considered Bethany Village’s application, the Planetree committee was unanimous in its assessment that the community is meeting the spirit and intent of the certification criteria, and agreed that this designation is well-deserved.

“This Gold Certification signals to its residents, and community that Bethany Village is an organization where staff partner with residents and families, and where patient and family comfort, dignity, empowerment and well-being are prioritized as key elements of providing top-quality clinical care,” said Planetree president Susan Frampton.

Congratulations to Bethany Village and all those involved in this outstanding achievement.
