Asbury has earned platinum certification from SAGECare, an LGBT accrediting body that fosters welcoming cultures for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people.
In June 2018, Asbury, a continuing care retirement community in Gaithersburg, Md., achieved bronze level certification, becoming the first senior living community in Maryland to earn that designation. Read The Washington Post feature on Asbury’s SAGECare journey.

SAGECare (www.sageusa.care) is a division of SAGE, the country’s oldest and longest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults. Platinum in the highest level of recognition and is based on organizational training.
