J.D. began his career with Asbury Foundation serving the Bethany Village community in 2007.  He began leading the Asbury Foundation as President & CEO in 2019. With more than 20 years in older adult services, J.D. finds value in partnering with a donor to fulfill their philanthropic passion within their home. “There are few things in this world more fulfilling than witnessing the impact of a donor’s philanthropy here at Asbury. I count it an honor and privilege to play a part in that impact.”

Susan Mayernick joined the Asbury Foundation team as Vice President of Development in 2018 and began serving as Executive Vice President in 2021. With more than eleven years in planned and leadership gift experience, Susan brings expertise to residents and friends of Asbury to structure charitable giving arrangements that benefit both their financial and philanthropic goals. Susan enjoys spending time with residents and friends of Asbury and listening to their stories. She also enjoys the opportunity to match donor’s joy of giving with current initiatives at all the Asbury campuses.  Susan and her husband Matt have three children that are busy in college and high school. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and three children as well as gardening and hiking.

Fran’s journey with the Asbury Foundation began in January of 2021, following nearly 10 years of service to Albright Care Services. “I have the best job in the world,” says Fran. “I help people share their blessings to make the world a better place – sometimes for one, sometimes for many – but always for good!” Fran enjoys the Delaware beaches with her husband Dave and dog, Diesel.  She is also a lover of books and the performing arts.

Susan joined the Asbury team in 2020. She loves getting to know the residents and is excited to match the passions of donors with the priorities at Asbury Methodist Village. When she’s not in her office, you may find her chatting with residents or playing the piano and leading a sing-along in one of the beautiful living room areas on campus.

As a Certified Financial Planner, Bob has been providing financial and charitable gift planning advice to families for over 30 years.  “I enjoy helping people make a difference.  I enjoy seeing their values and life goals shared with others through legacy planning.  It’s a privilege to be a part of that process.”  Bob sees the relationships formed along the way as the most fulfilling part of his role, and he appreciates the opportunity to serve the families and friends affiliated with the Asbury community. Bob and his wife, Beccy, have 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren. They enjoy travel and daily FaceTime with grandkids.  You also may find Bob on the golf course or playing on-line chess.

Alicia joined Asbury Communities in 2023 in an executive support role at the corporate office before transitioning to the Asbury Foundation in 2023. She is passionate about the mission of the Asbury Foundation and supports the team by keeping the wheels turning behind the scenes, including many of the administrative and governance functions. Alicia lives in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, with her husband and their two daughters. In her spare time, she loves cake decorating, camping, and going to the beach.

When out of the office she is in nature taking advantage of all the Pennsylvania Wilds have to offer.

Patty has more 10 years of working in non-profit Signature Events and Development. Prior to joining the Asbury Foundation Team, she managed Signature Events and Communication for the Alumni and Parents at Biola University. Originally from Los Angeles, Patty and her family now live in Richmond, VA. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, and exploring new cities and towns.

Denise joined the Asbury Foundation as Director of Development for Springhill in October of 2022. Denise has a long career in non-profits, including leading the team at The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Erie County, Community Shelter Services, and United Way of Erie County. Denise currently teaches at her alma mater, Gannon University. In her spare time, Denise enjoys spending time watching Gannon basketball games with her father, George, who is also an alumnus.

Heather Mattingly joined the Asbury Foundation as Director of Development for Asbury Solomons in April of 2017. Heather is inspired by the compassion and spirit of giving at Asbury. She considers it a privilege to be able to serve the residents, especially those who have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own.   Heather lives in Scotland, Maryland with her family and enjoys spending her free time boating and hiking with her two dogs.

Robert started his career over 23 years ago at Weill Cornell Medical College/New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He has done almost everything in the non-profit sector except secure a seven figure gift. Robert enjoys making a difference in the community and has dedicated most of his life to making change. When Robert is not in the office, he enjoys spending the day at the beach with his family, coaching girls softball, and playing a round of golf.
