Campus Visitation
Click here to view our latest communication about visitation and screening.
In addition to continuously monitoring and abiding by the recommendations put forth by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), we will continue to inform visitors of the local COVID-19 transmission rate in the surrounding community. Current transmission rate for Union County: High (Red)
Self-Screening Process
- Those entering the community will be responsible for self-screening according to the guide below (which is posted at all entrances). It is the visitor’s responsibility to determine if they meet the criteria to enter, and to notify the proper individual if they do not.
- Visitors should not enter the community if they:
- Have had a positive viral test for COVID-19 in the last 10 days.
- Have had any signs or symptoms of illness in the past 48 hours, to include: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
- Have had a close contact exposure to someone with COVID-19 in the last 10 days. A close contact exposure is defined to mean that you were within 6 feet for 15+ minutes with someone during a 24-hour period that has COVID-19.
- If you do not meet the criteria to enter, please consider rescheduling your visit to another time when you can meet the criteria to enter. If your visit is urgent, please contact us, as we may be able to assist you in connecting with your loved one safely.
- Visitors should not enter the community if they:
Masking
Masks are required in community indoor common areas for all residents and guests at RiverWoods.
All RiverWoods associates (vaccinated or not) will continue to wear masks at all times while working across all levels of care on campus.
Independent Living
Independent Living residents may entertain visitors within their dwellings and enjoy their company.
- Fully vaccinated Independent Living residents will no longer be required to wear a mask (indoors or outside) when coming or going on campus or when dining, attending group activities, etc. (While mask-wearing is not required, it is still recommended by the CDC.)
Travel & Self-Quarantine
- Residents who are fully vaccinated and complete any mandated local, state, or international restrictions do not have to quarantine or test. If a resident utilizes public transportation for their travel (airplane, train, or bus), they will need to review their transport details to determine if a SQ would be needed once they return from their trip.
- Residents who are not fully vaccinated and complete any mandated local, state, or international restrictions will have to self-quarantine for a full 7 days and discontinue self-quarantine if asymptomatic and after obtaining a negative PCR COVID-19 test 5 or more days after return from travel. If resident does not complete testing, they can return after 11-day quarantine if they remain asymptomatic. If the resident recovered from COVID-19 in the last 90 days: testing and quarantine is not recommended.
Personal Care
Visitation is permitted in Personal Care. In addition, we continue to offer window or virtual visits in our Personal Care neighborhood for family members who wish to visit with their loved ones.
- Residents Personal Care will continue to follow CDC, federal, state and local requirements. As a reminder, these neighborhoods are specific healthcare environments and continued guidance reflects that setting.
