Assisted Living Services for Supportive Senior Living

Assisted living communities are designed to support seniors experiencing physical limitations, health challenges, or mild to moderate memory loss. At Asbury Communities, we focus on helping seniors maintain their independence while enjoying a vibrant, engaging lifestyle.

Personal care services to support activities of daily living include getting dressed, meal reminders, medication management, maintaining hygiene, and receiving help with incontinence. Additional support can include driving to appointments, housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.

Amenities & Activities

Beyond personal care, senior assisted living communities offer meaningful activities, wellness programs, social events, planned outings, and transportation to appointments or shopping. For many seniors, assisted living is more than just support; it’s a way to stay active, connected, and truly enjoy each day.

While assisted living isn’t covered by Medicare or Medicaid, some costs may be supported by long-term care insurance.

Personal Care

Asbury Communities also offers personal care services for seniors at the following Pennsylvania senior living communities:

What is the Difference Between Personal Care and Assisted Living?

Very little. In 2011, Pennsylvania began licensing personal care and assisted living under two categories, mainly based on whether certain skilled nursing services are provided.

In most cases, personal care services provide the same support as assisted living, with trained staff helping seniors with activities of daily living.  Personal care communities also offer engaging programs, wellness activities, and events. The main difference is that personal care may not include some medical services that require skilled nursing.

FAQs

Have questions about assisted living? Find answers to help you feel confident in your decision!

Q1: What services and amenities are included in assisted living?

Assisted living communities typically offer a mix of services and amenities designed to make daily life easier and more enjoyable. This can include meals, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, wellness programs, social and recreational activities, and personalized care plans. Some services and amenities may vary by location, so it’s a good idea to check with each community to see the full range of offerings available.

Q2: What safety measures are in place for residents?

Safety is a top priority! Our assisted living communities feature secure entrances, emergency call systems, and trained staff available 24/7 to respond to needs. Residents also benefit from ongoing wellness checks and supportive environments designed to reduce risks while encouraging independence.

Q3: How do I know which assisted living community is the right fit?

Finding the right assisted living community is about matching you or your loved one’s needs, lifestyle, and preferences. Consider factors like the level of care offered, available amenities, social programs, and the overall environment. Visiting communities, speaking with team members, and asking questions about daily routines and services can help you make the best choice.

Q4: Do you offer tours of your assisted living communities?

Yes! Tours are a great way to experience the community firsthand, meet staff, and see the living spaces and amenities. We encourage families and prospective residents to schedule a visit so you can explore the community and get a sense of daily life at Asbury.
