Our Story – Grow With Asbury Communities

Serving Older Adults for Nearly a Century

Are you looking for a quality, forward-thinking aging services partner? Asbury is growing, and we are seeking new partner organizations through affiliation and acquisition.

In 1926, Asbury Communities began its Mission of service to older adults with the establishment of a Methodist Home for the Aged in Gaithersburg, MD. Today, Asbury is the nation’s 16th-largest not-for-profit senior living and health services provider, as ranked by LeadingAge Ziegler 200. With eight entrance-fee continuing care retirement communities, one rental independent living and personal care community, home care and home health services, Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly centers, pharmacy services, HUD affordable senior housing, as well as The Asbury Foundation and ThriveWell Tech IT services, Asbury Communities employs approximately 2,800 associates proudly serving more than 4,300 older adults.

At Asbury, “Anticipate More” is not just a tagline. It’s a promise we’ve been keeping for nearly 100 years.

Our 2022-2024 Strategic Blueprint

In 2021, Asbury’s leadership team collaborated with our Board of Directors and a consulting firm to create a Strategic Blueprint for our organization where well-being is the driver and outcome of all that we do. Through the intersection of impassioned people, a shared Mission, and cutting-edge innovation, people feel inspired and supported. Technology enables associates to think big and accomplish more. Those we serve are energized through meaningful, personal experiences. Collaborations with world-class organizations foster programs and services that outstrip our competition. Whether it is through technology or its people, Asbury can confidently call itself a leader in its field and beyond.
